Shane Macklin
Director

Shane Macklin is a graduate of Minden High
School, NE and graduated with honors from the
University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Mr. Macklin was a
member of several ensembles while attendeding
UNL and was also a member of the Madison
Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps in 1986 and 1987.
He directed the award-winning Railmen Drum
and Bugle Corps, from Omaha, NE, from 1988
through 1992. Mr. Macklin began his teaching
career at Ralston High School in Omaha. He was
director of bands there from 1989-2000. During
that time period, the Ralston bands gained a
reputation for creativity and excellence winning
many superior ratings in all facets of their
program. Mr. Macklin came to Roosevelt High in
the fall of 2000. From that point, The Roosevelt
band has matured into one of the premiere music programs in
the Midwest. Mr. Macklin is also an active drill and show designer
for other bands in the Midwest. His hobbies include restoring
old homes, antiques, landscaping, hiking and cycling. |
Jamie Tucker

Jamie Tucker is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he earned a Bachelors of Music Education degree. While attending UNL, Mr. Tucker studied euphonium with Craig Fuller, and was a member of the Cornhusker Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble. Prior to attending UNL, Mr. Tucker also studied euphonium with Dr. Gary Bird at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. From 2003 to 2007, Mr. Tucker was a member of the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps, formerly based out of Philadelphia, PA but now based out of San Antonio, TX. Upon finishing his marching career with the Crossmen, Mr. Tucker was a member of the administrative staff in 2008. Mr. Tucker is also a brother of the Upsilon Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia National Fraternity of America, Inc, having helped re-charter the UNL Chapter. He is also a current member of MENC: National Association for Music Education. Aside from music, Mr. Tucker is a huge sports addict and a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Nebraska Cornhuskers. He also enjoys fishing, canoeing, surfing, and exploring historical landmarks and lighthouses.
